Start here

Root teaches security by doing it on a real machine.

1$ read lesson
A few diagrams, a terminal session and a table of commands. Five minutes, not fifty.
2$ start machine
Your own isolated Linux machine opens beside the lesson. No internet, nothing to install, deleted when it expires.
3$ answer questions
Every question is answered from what is on the machine. Answers are checked on our side.

House rules

Practice only on your lab machine: Each machine is yours alone and cut off from the network.
Never test systems you do not own: Written permission first, every time.
Think like the defender: Every lab ends with what to check and what to fix.
